The different DAS formulas that have been developed and validated are mentioned below:

DAS(4) = 0.54*sqrt(RAI) + 0.065*(swollen44) + 0.33*Ln(ESR) + 0.0072*GH

DAS(3) = 0.54*sqrt(RAI) + 0.065*(swollen44) + 0.33*Ln(ESR) + 0.22

DAS-4(crp) = 0.54*sqrt(RAI)+ 0.065*SJC44 + 0.17*ln(CRP+1) + 0.0072*GH + 0.45

DAS-3(crp) = 0.54*sqrt(RAI)+ 0.065*SJC44 + 0.17*ln(CRP+1) + 0.65

High disease activity >3.7, low disease activity <2.4, remission <1.6

DAS28(4) = (0.56*sqrt(t28) + 0.28*sqrt(sw28) + 0.70*Ln(ESR) + 0.014*GH

DAS28(3) = [0.56*sqrt(t28) + 0.28*sqrt(sw28) + 0.70*Ln(ESR)]*1.08 + 0.16

DAS28-CRP(4) = 0.56*sqrt(TJC28) + 0.28*sqrt(SJC28) + 0.36*ln(CRP+1) + 0.014*GH + 0.96

DAS28-CRP(3) = [0.56*sqrt(TJC28) + 0.28*sqrt(SJC28) + 0.36*ln(CRP+1)] * 1.10 + 1.15

High disease activity >5.1, low disease activity <3.2, remission <2.6

DAS28 = (1.072)*DAS) + 0.938

RAI = number of painful joints calculated with the Ritchie Articular Index

swollen = number of swollen joints from 44 joints

t28 = number of painful joints from 28 joints

sw28 = number of swollen joints from 28 joints

ESR = erythrocyte sedimentation rate in mm/first hour
